On November 15, local time in Germany, the Organizing Committee of the China Climate Change Film Festival held a press conference at the conference venue of the UN Bonn Climate Change Conference. Deputy Director of Science and Climate Change Department of China Meteorological Administration Gao Yun, Deputy Director of Integrated Department of National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation Zhang Zhiqiang, Shenzhen HANDLE President and the Director of the Organizing Committee of HCCFF Chen Suping, Vice President of Innovative Research Institute of Science Popularization, Shenhen and the Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee Catherine Liu attended the conference.

Gao Yun cited the fifth assessment report issued by the 2015 IPCC, points out that the real existence of climate change, it has led to a shortage of water resources, extensive droughts, sea level rise, glacier retreat, food output fluctuation and epidemic disease. She said, “scientific data and conclusions need to be understood by more people in a better and easier way, film is one of the powerful tool and means to promote active participation of all sectors in climate change and make the profound scientific conclusion, data and policy suggestions more easy to understand. We need a better way to make the world learn more about China's efforts, challenge and achievements and make voice of China to be heard. And I think it is a good way to tell the story of China through film.”

Zhang Zhiqiang said, “National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation always undertake the work of international exchange of climate change. Attending UN Climate Change Conference and carring out China Pavilion activities are the chance to build a international platform to communicate in academic and techniccal and show China’s image. In the future,we will cooperate with Handle Climate Change Film Festiva Organizing Committeel to carry out climate action, communication of climate chang and use film to tell Chinese stories.”

Through the statement of Chen Suping, we know that in 2017 Handle Climate Change Film Festival, not only has there been a increase in the number of film works, but also the achievements of cross-border communication in Forum. It has also got recognition and attention from the United Nations. Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Liu Zhenmin sent a video message to congratulated, and the Former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Sha Zukang made a keynote speech. Therefore, the organizing committee will make further efforts to hold the third Handle Climate Change Film Festival in 2018.

Catherine Liu made a statement on the objective of 3rd HCCFF. First, continue to expand the participation of youth groups, and promote the project of Green Youth and Green Teens to the whole Country. Second,  increase the participation of industry enterprises, attract enterprises in the field of climate change to demonstrate the new products and technologies of climate change through film, and use them for international market promotion in the future. And finally, deepening the Green Film Initiative, connect with World Bank "Film4Climate" project, the Green film Alliance and other agencies to promote the international standards of green production in the film industry.

It is reported, Handle Climate Change Film Festival was founded in 2015 in Shenzhen, China, has carried out two sessions. The representative of the organizing committee of HCCFF has participated in the United Nations Climate Change Conference for three consecutive years and has shown the story and image of China's climate change in China Pavilion.
