He also mentioned that great importance has been attached to unleash the creativity from the public to tackle this issue, inviting all parties to keep paying attention to and participating the HCCFF.
Miguel Naranjo believed that humans are more accustomed to understanding and memorizing information and knowledge through stories. To this end, the United Nations Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC) has strengthened cooperation with the film, television and entertainment industry for further exploration. HCCFF is one of the important projects UNFCCC supports. He said China has been quite impressive in terms of its fastest development. Its collected works are outstanding in terms of the quality and quantity. He looked forward to further strengthening the cooperation to engage more stakeholders and work together to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Chen Suping, founder of the HCCFF and chairman of Shenzhen Handle Culture Company, introduced the preparations for the 8th HCCFF in terms of its works selection, themed seminars, public participation, youth program and low-carbon life. With all preparations being officially launched, Chen sent the invitation to all parties to this grand event.
It's the fifth time for HCCFF to hold the press conference at the COP, following Marrakech, Bonn, Katowice and Madrid. HCCFF has received strong support from the Chinese government and the municipal government of Shenzhen, and collected more than 10,000 climate-themed film works from over 130 countries and regions around the world. The success in this press conference demonstrates the importance of UNFCCC attaches to the application of film and TV to promote climate change in China and is of great significance to China's construction of a non-government film and TV platform to lead international climate governance.
